  1. Senior Thesis – International Studies Colloquium

Cleveland 110
February 29 at 5pm

Catherine Abrego will be presenting her senior thesis this coming Wednesday at 5pm in Cleveland 110. Her research addresses the contradiction between the policy and the practice of peace since World War II by exploring and asking a relevant series of questions that surround the concept of international peace amongst nation-states as they interact in the growing global society. The objective of this research is to understand these contradictions with the hope of presenting a framework that no longer sustains them. By presenting an alternative conception of peace nation-states will be able to uphold their practices to their policies. If peace is conceptualized as the spread of education, awareness, and acceptance amongst nation-states and not the absence of violence we will be able to maintain a state of peace within the growing global society.
